Announcing the Pantone Color Of The Year 2020

In case you weren’t in the know, Pantone officially unveiled its 20th anniversary color of the year: Classic Blue and we’re loving this timeless hue. We adore the idea of this shade carrying us into a new decade, particularly in relation to Batiks. The shade is just so versatile. You can use it to create a classic look, a modern look, as a pop of wow, or play with fun motifs for a touch of whimsy.

Classic Blue a shade reminiscent of the sky at dusk. It’s also a color that’s ubiquitous the world over. During the company’s global research effort (one that begins well over a year in advance of the announcement), Classic Blue popped up in fields as diverse as the art market, the beauty industry, automotive manufacturing, tech, and even outer space.

Since the start of the tradition more than 20 years ago, the Color of the Year has influenced the fashion, interior design and advertising industries, among others.

Classic Blue is a poised and self-assured blue hue, elegant in its simplicity. This foundational anchor shade enables color mixes throughout the spectrum, yet at the same time, makes a strong statement on its own.
